Why Write?

Why should I write?
Because I need to tell my story.
How will my children's children know me.
If I don't meet them personally.
Only I can tell my story.
      I won't get paid.
But the gift is always priceless.
      I am one root,
of our large family tree.
I do want you to know me!

blue & grey

I like the color blue.
There is something that makes me trust blue.
I know on a sunny day blue will shine
      running through the sky,
disappearing as it blends in with the sun.
On a cloudy day, I know blue is still running through the sky.
For every cloudy day that I have,
at least some one else will be rained upon
by a blue sky.
      I don't mind a cloudy day.
Because if clouds did not exist, like the ability to wish,
I would never see my next favorite color, grey.

You, me, we, us, and don't forget about them over there.
We are all children.
The child should never be like his or her parents.
Children should only be great representations.
We are all children.

sisters

I love my sisters.
      We fought well together.
Well, really against.
I have learned a lot from my sisters.
I am strong, tall, and built to survive.
       The only difference is,
I am male.
       If you close your eyes,
You will feel the same fire,
       that burns, driving our soul.
Life would never be this special,
If I ever had a brother.
So, though I pray for a son
If the son does not rise, on my horizon
My daughters will never be treated any less.
Son or Daughter, they are my children.
Treated as equal. My children will be raised as I was.
Seek the love and equality that I have,
For my sisters.

Patience

How do I learn?
Some things just come naturally, but
some things never turn my way when I need them to.
God, how long does it last?
Slow. Slow. Slowly time barely passes.
Sometimes when I'm not looking, I swear it stops.
Like a rock.
How do I learn?
    Please teach me,
so I can turn time from a rock,
into a free flowing mountain river on a hot day.
That's how I learn!
Like honey, may the sweet flow of the river last,
So I can get past,
    this rock of a class.
